It’s clear that August Alsina never misses an opportunity to capitalize off of will and Jada’s pain. The R&B singer dropped a new track entitled “Shake The World” and he still referencing his “entanglement” with Jada Pinkett Smith.
The singer wrote:
I heard I was canceled / Well, let’s speak on that,” “Red dot on my back / I became a target / And I’m flawed but flawless / That’s what makes me August. I heard it’s some shit that’s about to go down when you got a billion dollars on the elevator / Well, of course some shit was bound to go down when you tangled up with the world’s favorite.August Alsina- Shake The World
August Alsina picked the perfect time to gain some traction off of this song with the backlash from the Oscars that the couple is facing. This year‘s Oscars is one of the most talked about Oscars with Will‘s incident of slapping comedian Chris Rock after a joke he made in regards to Jada’s appearance. Chris rock joked about Jada peeing in G.I. Jane to do to her new shortcut. The joke caused a lot of public outcry due to Jada being so vocal about her battle with alopecia. Online conversations alluded to the fact that Will‘s actions were not just based off of Chris Rock’s poor joke about Jada’s newly shaved head, but all of the buildup that will might be keeping in due to the fact of some of his struggles in life, and in his relationship with the actress. Jada and Will spoke freely about their relationship issues on an episode of her show Red Table Talk in which she detailed having a relationship with August Alsina during a brief separation between the two.
This wouldn’t be Alsina’s first time around addressing the couple after his break up with Jada. August spoke on the romantic affair they had in his 2020 track “Entanglements.” Before dropping the song the singer sit down with Angela Yee of Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club to discuss his views on the relationship with the Smiths. He wrote:
I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her,” I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it-so much so to the point that I can die right now and be OK with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.
