SZA, Grammys 2022

Grammy award winning singer/songwriter SZA won last night for Best Pop Duo/Performance for “Kiss Me More” with rapper Doja Cat. This marks as the first trophy win for the platinum-selling songstress. The 32-year old showed up to the 64th annual ceremony in crutches and accepted the award alongside Doja Cat, who was caught by surprise after pulling up on stage from a bathroom break. Doja thanked SZA for her contribution to the song before breaking in tears.

SZA… you are everything to me, you are incredible. You are the epitome of talent. You’re a lyricist

During a backstage Q&A with the Recording Academy, SZA was able to answer a few questions, including why she showed up in crutches, as well as highly anticipated follow up sophomore album, which fans have been waiting for since her 2017 debut, CTRL (which was nominated for 9 Grammy’s).

“I just finished it up in Hawaii. And it’s coming soon! I think it’s my most unisex album. I think it’s for everyone.”
