Tre Prada is an artist on the rise in this rap game but has already encountered his first artist run for a beat. The rapper released his song “Goonies” last year in 2020 which gained traction after the video was released.

It wasn’t until Tre woke to several messages comparing the newly released track to that of a mega star’s song that the controversy began. Fans noticed that Prada’s song sounded identical to “Up” by Cardi B. The Grammy winning artist released her song February of this year.

Take a listen to the songs below.

Here’s “Up” By Cardi B

This isn’t the first time Cardi has been accused of ripping off an artist when it comes to “Up”. New Jersey rappers Mir Pesos and Mir Fontane accused Cardi of allegedly riping off their song “Stuck”.

“They stealing,” Mir Pesos said in an Instagram post comparing the two songs. “We want my money,” he tweeted.

In response to the tweets about the similarities, Cardi, 28, posted an Instagram story of an old video of her singing the song and wrote: “From August 7th … I been working on this. Sorry lil boy never hurd of you.”

Tre Prada did respond via twitter saying “So we gone act like Cardi B didn’t just take my Goonies song”.

After listening to both tracks it’s hard not to hear the similarities. What do you think? You be the judge!
