Grenadian artist Mr. Killa and Culture Ambassador bring a historic moment for Caribbean music on national Television
Grenada for the win, music artist Mr. Killa brings the Soca energy to Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. PeacockTV & Executive producer Glenda Cox wanted a unique sound created from scratch for the show.
They reached out to Mr. Killa, the co-founder of Rebel 1 Entertainment, a 360 entertainment company providing a full array of services, including production, publishing & distribution.
Mr. Killa is a versatile soca singer and an exceptional entertainer. His unique sound incorporates elements of EDM, dancehall, and other genres while remaining authentic in Soca. Mr. Killa never fails to deliver his assignments; he created the themed song”Housewives in the Island Babay” for Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. This opportunity is significant for the Caribbean culture. Mr Killa and his team have stepped into a space that hasn’t been easy for most Caribbean genres, especially Soca.
In the past two months, Caribbean music has been embraced by the mainstream. Cardi B produced a dancehall-themed birthday party and booked artists such as Mr. Vegas, Spice, Shenseea, Ding Dong, to name a few. A week later, VERZUZ hosts a battle with DJ Super Cat, Kranium, Dexta Daps, Konshens, Baby Cham, Barrington Levy, and Teejay Uptop Boss moderated by Wyclef Jean. Moments like those are needed for the culture.
