R. Kelly’s former background dancer testifies she walked in on him and Aaliyah in ‘sexual encounter’

The Dancer, Identified only as “Angela,” testified that she walked in on Kelly performing a sexual act on teenaged Aaliyah around 1993. The testimony bears a striking resemblance to the one given during in the bombshell documentary ‘Surviving R. Kelly’. Angela took the stand Monday to detail an incident in which she caught Kelly who was in his mid-20’s at the time giving Aaliyah oral sex on the back of a tour bus.  She told the court that she and another woman were playing a pranking game, when at some point they decided to prank Kelly. She claims that she “slightly opened the door and saw Robert’s head between Aaliyah’s legs while he was on his knees.”

The incident took place one year before Kelly married Aaliyah by obtaining a fake ID stating Aaliyah was 18. Kelly was 27, and the Aaliyah was actually 15 years old.

Kelly currently faces one count of racketeering and eight counts of violating the Mann Act, which criminalizes the transportation of people across state lines for prostitution. He continues to plead his innocence in relation to these charges.

It our hope that some measure of justice can be served in this matter. The alleged victimization of underaged girls has gone overlooked for much too long. It is time for Robert Kelly to pay penance for his misdeeds and accept complete responsibility.
