Kendrick Lamar Announces New Album + Final Album With TDE
Earlier in the year, rumors circulating around the web alluded that Kendrick Lamar would be releasing a full-length project. Back in April, The Game also fueled the fire, that Kendrick would be releasing a brand new album as well – however, many fans did not believe the hype.
On Friday (August 20), the Compton emcee broke his silence on social media, in lieu to launch his new website oklama.com
On the website, Kendrick expresses his sentiments including on what he’s been up to as well as his forthcoming album will be the last under the TDE roster.
“I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts. Writing. Listening. And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence.”
K.Dot continues, “Love, loss, and a grief have disturbed my comfort zone, but the glimmers of God speak through my music and family. While the world around me evolves, I reflect on what matters the most. The life in which my words will land next.”
On the last paragraph, the 34-year-old rapper express his departure from Top Dawg Entertainment – whom he has been part of over 17 years. He expresses a heartfelt sentiment where he praises their success and brotherhood.
“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel the joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles, The Success. And more importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”
So far, there are no words as to when Kendrick’s album will be dropping, but sources circulating around the web states by the end of the year.
