The details for Young Thug’s upcoming album appear to be pouring in with the Atlanta legend announcing a release date. The announcement came at the end of Thugger’s Tiny Desk Concert where he performed a few tracks, one being ‘Tick Tock’ which is expected to appear on Thug’s incoming album. After ‘Tick Tock,’ Young Thug performed his Slime Language 2 hit, ‘Ski’ with the help of Travis Barker before turning his back to the camera to reveal a release date of October 15th, printed on the back of his Punk shirt.
Truthfully (and probably biasedly) Young Thug’s Tiny Desk Concert is one of the best I’ve seen with Thugger serving fans samples of new music that can be expected in the future, in addition to performing ‘Ski’ with what would be safe to assume is a Punk twist. Fans should probably expect an album rollout that proves to be a slow burn with the release date for Punk about two and a half months away. However, judging based on the content in the tracks Thugger teased during this Tiny Desk Concert, fans may be receiving what is Young Thug’s most vulnerable album yet, making the concept of a slow-burning album rollout make sense. Additionally, Young Thug may have to take time to get fans adjusted to his new sound so fans can fully embrace Punk when it is delivered to us. With a release date of October 15th, Young Thug has a lot of time to make sure all the Ts are crossed in preparation for the release of Punk.
