Benzino Come Get Your Daughturr: Was Coi Leray’s XXL Freestyle A Hit Or A Miss?
One thing about Black Twitter is they will definitely have an opinion and let you know what’s hot or what’s not. Yesterday (July 13th), XXL released the first batch of XXL Freshmen Cyphers’ which included DDG, Lakeyah, Morray, and Coi Leray.
One standout that received praise all over social media was Lakeyah, who was complimented for her delivery, punchlines, and has been said to have been the “best” out of the cypher.

The Quality Control signee has been delivering fire verses since her cover to Monica’s ‘So Gone’ record with the #SoGoneChallenge back in 2016 that bought the high school freshman the viral attention in the first place. Clearly, she’s been keeping her foot on our necks and it shows.
While Lakeyah continues to gain appraisal, looks like Benzino needs to get his “daughtuur” as Twitter has their opinions on Leray’s XXL verse. Leray closed out the cypher and many fans are now questioning the ‘No More Parties’ rap capabilities, claiming her verse was “not good” and using memes to describe their thoughts.

While fans are calling this one of the “worst XXL freestyles ever,” seems like the 24-year-old rapper feels differently, as she took to Instagram to post that she feels Lakeyah and herself had the “best freestyle” in the cypher, going as far as to say she feels she had the “best freestyle” out of all the other participants…
This freestyle made be an indicator of what to expect on the album as Coi Leray shared in an Instagram post back in May that her debut album is “ready.”
Do you agree with Coi Leray? Did she have the “best freestyle” out of the first group? You can watch the full freestyle below.
