Ab-Soul Announces His Next Album

The gears at Top Dawg Entertainment seem to be in motion following the first release from Isaiah Rashad in a little more than a year in the form of his single “Lay Wit Ya” featuring Duke Deuce. Now, another artist from the TDE camp has given fans a reason to hope for a summer filled with TDE releases. Ab-Soul took to Twitter to announce his next album is in the works in prototypical TDE fashion with an ominous tweet that read “That’s all I got right now… Album comin soon…”

When is soon? Nobody can be certain and judging based on TDE’s history in releasing music, it’s safe to say that nobody except for the mastermind behind the scenes Top Dawg himself knows. However, fans hope soon actually means soon with the gap continuously growing between Ab-Soul’s last album Do What Thou Wilt. which was released in 2016 and this next project.

This smorgasbord of announcements from Top Dawg Entertainment is an encouraging sign to fans who have been busy doing everything they can to manifest new music from their favorites like Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Isaiah Rashad, and Ab-Soul among others. However, with just the vague announcement that a new Ab-Soul project exists, fans are left to try and manifest getting some more information about a name, tracklist, features, cover art, and release date.

Regardless, this Ab-Soul “announcement” is an encouraging sign because when you consider Top Dawg Entertainment’s cycle-like philosophy to releasing albums, any album released by the label means one step closer to new music from Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
