Joe Budden Faces Sexual Harassment Claims From Former “See The Thing Is” Podcaster DJ Olivia Dope
As Hollywood continues to crackdown on the sexual misconduct that occurs with the help of the #MeToo Initiative, one of our beloved DJs comes forth about her situation that involved Joe Budden, who recently was in the headlines for disrespecting his former cohosts Rory and Mal from the Joe Budden Podcast.
In a 26 minute video, the former “See The Thing Is” cohost, which she hosted with musician Bridget Kelly and podcaster Mandii B, shares why she decided to leave the podcast after Episode 16, which is due to Budden saying sexual remarks to the Dope during their taping. Dope opened up the video recalling the unfortunate event that took place:
“On January 18, 2021, Joe Budden sat in on a recording of the female-led podcast I was a part of and continuously made sexual, suggestive remarks to me that made me extremely uncomfortable as well as fearful of dampening the mood if I didn’t laugh along while he made those sexual remarks to me”
Dope continues to share how she felt “embarrassed” and “traumatized” when the instance occurred but wanted to speak up to warn others that it “probably wouldn’t be the best situation for you to enter into, working with this person.”
Dope continues in her video to share that Budden told her cohosts that they do not dress “sexy enough”, which created a “competitive environment” while working in the work place. She continues to share how a former cast member began to show relayed group chat message threads and would begin to try to compete with her in order to become “Joe’s favorite”, which Dope claims Budden has stated how Dope was his favorite on the podcast.
Dope continues to 13 minutes in the video how there’s a specific scene edited out of an episode where Budden begins to give each hosts their flowers and shares their accolades. Once it becomes Dope’s turn, Budden proceeds to allegedly say “Olivia is unique because I want to f*ck Olivia and the fans love her,” to which Dope claims her eyes widen in shock.
After saying this remark and furthering along in the episode, Budden asks for an on-air hug from Dope, to which her former co hosts insist Dope to do. Dope shares that she gave me a hug but kept somewhat of a distance, to which Budden embraces Dope and “wiggles his hips” as he gives her the hug.
