Who Did “Exposing Me” Best?

Brooklyn drill music has become very influential and popular across the country and the world in the past year. When people think of drill music, the songs they tend to think of are “Welcome to the Party” by Pop Smoke, “Suburban Pt. 2” by 22Gz, “Big Drip” by Fivio Foreign, and recent mega hit “Whoopty” by CJ. From CJ to Pop Smoke to the late King Von, many rappers have used the iconic Exposing Me instrumental. But not many know where it originates from. The smooth floating vocal sample that defines the beat, comes from Arijit Singh’s song, Sanam Re. The song Sanam Re became widely popular after being used as the title song for the movie Sanam Re. 2016 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama directed by Divya Khosla Kumar. Due to the fact that the vocal sample is copyrighted, and the beat has been used so much, that none of these artists are able to monetize revenue off the tracks, but the tracks have definitely pushed all these artists popularity and notoriety. With all these artists rapping over the same instrumental, it begs the question. Who did it best?
