Lil’ TJay and 6Lack Could Dominate the UK Charts with “Calling My Phone”
Bronx rapper Lil TJay is slated to reach the number one spot on the UK Official Chart First Look for his new record, “Calling My Phone,” which features 6Lack. The introspective rap-ballad is making waves across the pond and could end Olivia Rodrigo’s five-week height with “Drivers License,” if the momentum of the record continues to remain at its steady pace.
“Calling My Phone” in translation is the beginning to an end of a relationship. From the painstaking reality of letting go, permitting your emotions to go into overdrive which leads to numerous phone calls – pleading for understanding or closure.
TJay’s first verse alludes that he is tired of the dramatics of the relationship with his ex-beau. How traumatized and hurt he is from the experience and it is time to move forward. In the lyrics, he harmonizes:
“I ain’t tryna play these games no more/ I don’t wanna be textin’ your name no more/ I ain’t tryna feel this pain no more/ And I’m sorry, but my feelings ain’t the same no more” Lil’ TJay on “Calling My Phone”
Atlanta native 6Lack later intervenes on the record with his solo part, concluding the end of the chapter once shared with the main lady in his life.
“Waitin’ on your king, you could wait some more/Yeah, I remember days when I used to adore her/Funny how this shit just flipped like a quarter” 6Lack on “Calling My Phone.”
The duo both harmonizes over a melodramatic beat to “Calling My Phone,” which makes it an instant banger on the charts, and a related piece for those who are experiencing a breakup kind of situation.
What could topping the UK charts mean for both artists? It means a crossover threshold and a groundbreaking international hit. The final count will be released on Friday at 5:45 pm. Hopefully they both take over the number one spot.
