Ron Suno Inks Distribution Deal With EMPIRE, New Single “Bandit” Drops Tonight
Viral social media sensation turned Brooklyn drill frontrunner, Ron Suno, announced today that he and his SBL Music Group are partnering with EMPIRE to distribute his growing catalog of hits.
A longtime hustler and independent creator, Bronx-native Ron Suno is paving the way for performers and creatives to navigate the music industry on their own terms – opting for a distribution deal over a traditional label deal to maintain his independence and ownership.
It’s no secret that Ron Suno had a massive 2020. Musically, dropping a stream of independently released hits and collaborating with some of the biggest names in hip hop including Fivio Foreign, Blueface, Sheff G, DDG, Sosa Geek, Smoove’l, Fetty Wap, and more. Not only that, Suno continued to maintain his same funny presence on IG and TikTok with nonstop hilarious content and countless interviews. His success in music and on social media in 2020 opened the door for a major feature in the coveted XXL Mag as well as the opportunity to become an NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks alongside Mulatto and Lil Eazzy.
To commemorate his new partnership with EMPIRE, Suno announced he’ll be dropping a new single on Friday, an undeniably catchy Ron Suno special with the signature one-word title “Bandit”. The track, produced by SBL’s own Julian Alex, is to be accompanied by another tightly produced David Janoff Films-directed visual featuring big racks, funny dance moves, and a brand new press-out hairstyle on the viral sensation.
“Bandit” is the first track we’ve heard from Ron Suno this year – but with the news of this EMPIRE deal it seems like the young star and the SBL camp are gearing up for a big 2021.
Since first going massively viral on social media in 2017 with the #WeaveChallenge, gaining half a million followers in a matter of weeks, Ron Suno has proven his talent and staying power by putting out consistent, engaging content over multiple channels in the form of hilarious to-camera rants, scripted skits, and general outrageous antics – making use of Suno’s natural comedic charisma, comically deep voice, and over-the-top Bronx accent.
Ron Suno picked up the mic in 2019, instantly shattering all “comedian rapper” expectations with solid, hugely respectable drill-inspired singles “With My Crew” and “Party On Jump” before dropping his debut EP, with the foreshadowing title New Boss.
His first track to really catch fire was “Pinocchio” in October, 2019 – a fun track with a lighthearted namesake but fierce drill beat that quickly shot to an eye-popping 8M views on Youtube and over 11M streams in just a few weeks. From there he followed up with the scorching hot collab with Mr.Viral himself, Fivio Foreign on “Spider-man.”
Since then, Suno kept his foot on the gas all throughout 2020 – collaborating with some of the biggest names in the NY music scene to put together his very impressive project, SWAG LIKE MIKE – a collecting of well-crafted, majorly catchy tracks accompanied by eye-catching, professionally produced visuals released throughout the year. tracks like “Bussin” feat Smoove’l, “Bang Em,” “Lefty,” and “Wraith” feat. DDG.
Now an undeniable, full-fledged artist and viral hitmaker, the game is Ron Suno’s for the taking. With a major distribution deal with EMPIRE in hand, social media and the all-important TikTok on lock, and seemingly endless amounts of creativity – the sky is the limit for the Bronx-native viral sensation in 2021.
