YFN Lucci Allegedly Wanted in Fatal Atlanta Shooting

Rapper YFN Lucci is currently experiencing a life-altering plight, in connection to a tragic shootout in Southwest Atlanta last month. 

On Tuesday (January 12, 2021), Atlanta authorities unveiled the grim details and pending criminal charges against the rapper and co-conspirators in connection to the murder of 28-year-old James Adams, and a second victim, whose name is currently unknown – but is slated to be in stable condition. 

Adams’s body was discovered with one gunshot wound to the head on December 10th in the 900th block of Peeples Street in Southwest Atlanta. Shortly after paramedics arrived to escort Adams to a nearby hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries. The second victim whose name is unknown to the public, was shot once in his abdominal region in which he was treated for his injuries and released shortly thereafter. 

YFN Lucci, whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett, is allegedly involved in the catastrophe in which he is facing felony murder charges, accompanied with: aggravated assault, involvement in criminal street gang activities, and a weapons charges – according to the Atlanta Police Department during their Tuesday press release. 

Alongside the rapper, two other suspects since have been apprehended in Miami on similar charges in connection to the December 10 shootout. 23-year-old Ra’von Boyd and 17-year-old Leroy Pitts. Other media outlets and reputable sources has not indicated the two suspects intended roles, or the timeframe of their sentence, if convicted.

Currently, there is a $5,000 reward issued to anyone who has any information involving Bennett’s whereabouts. Lucci label or public relations team has yet to make a statement in response to his alleged involvement on the incident.

Lucci is an Atlanta native who rose to prominent success in 2014 after the debut of his mixtape “Wish me Well,” under ‘Think It’s A Game Entertainment.’ The rapper would later release several compilations such as: “Wish me Well II,” which included his hit single ‘Key to the Streets,’ which featured Migos and Trouble. The record landed on Billboard Hot Hip-Hop/R&B songs at number 27. Following his rise to fame, he would later release his EP titled “Long Live Nut” back in 2017, and his debut album “Ray Ray from Summerhill,” in 2018 which peaked at number 14 on Billboard’s top 200. In late 2020, the rapper released his most recent project “Corona Pack,” in which he was slated to do a promotional tour shortly after the holiday season.
