GS9 Artist Rowdy Rebel Released After Six Years
GS9’s Rowdy Rebel was released from prison today.
Rowdy Rebel – born Chad Marshall – was arrested in December 2014 on conspiracy charges alongside fellow GS9 artist Bobby Shmurda. Rowdy was sentenced in 2016 to six years in Collins Correctional Facility after pleading guilty to a weapons charge and one count of third-degree conspiracy. Today, after a successful parole hearing he was released under community supervision – touching freedom for the first time since 2014 (in spectacular fashion to say the least).

The group is most well known for the massive hits “Shmoney Dance” “Bobby Bitch” and “Hot N***a” – going insanely viral back in 2014 and landing Bobby and Rowdy their deals at Epic Records, where together they released the NY classic “Computers” (notably performed by Bobby on a conference table in front of the entire staff of Epic Records).
Bobby Shmurda, who famously took a longer plea deal in order to reduce Rowdy’s time, remains incarcerated and is set to be released next year.
