Lil Bam Scores With The Visual For “Julio (Remix)” feat. Rick Ross & Jucee Froot
This week Lil Bam released the extravagant, football-themed visual for the remix to his breakout single “Julio” featuring Rick Ross and Jucee Froot. The original version that dropped last year is what caught the eyes and ears of the South – with over 1.4M views and counting – and it’s been up from there ever since. The visual comes at the perfect time to set up the release of Bam’s label debut ‘The Last Don EP’ – set to drop this November 26th.
Directed by Roger Alexander of AlphaMale Visuals, the over-the-top, high production value visual for the “Julio” remix features the Atlanta Phoenix Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC’s) team. A fun video concept, Lil Bam and his team wanted to show that the ladies of Atlanta’s home team “catch just as many plays in A” as these dudes.
Capitalizing on the homecourt advantage, the video for Julio also prominently features Atlanta’s Taylor Girlz on the cheer squad, as well as Richie Re.
Lil Bam takes the field as “Coach Bam,” setting the stage with his undeniably catchy flow – followed by an inspiring and at times hilarious halftime speech. Next, Memphis rapper Jucee Froot comes in to narrate the chaos on the field, laying down a fire verse from behind the broadcast booth. Against all odds, Lil Bam’s squad comes out with W to be joined by none other than Ricky Rozay himself for the trophy ceremony.
When discussing the video’s creative elements Bam recalls, “What I like most about it is that it looks like a short film. A lot of different pieces, but it all comes together to make a real movie. It was a very long day but well worth it.”
Reflecting on the big production visual, “Working alongside a living legend like Rozay and one of the hardest female rappers like Jucee was crazy. This was definitely one of my most exciting videos”
2019 was a breakout year for the MBK4L recording artist with a number of impressive projects and collaborations under his belt – including features with Lil Baby and YBN Almighty Jay. In 2020, he has expanded his audience beyond the South by elevating his work ethic and consistently releasing quality new music and videos. Bam’s most recent hit “Hot Boy” was spotlighted on Apple Music’s “New South” Playlist – surpassing 3.5 million streams and drawing the attention of Goodie Mob in which he sampled.
All signs point upward for this rising Birmingham, Alabama artist. Check out the eye-popping visual for “Julio (Remix” feat. Rick Ross and Jucee Froot – and be on the lookout for Lil Bam’s debut project, ‘The Last Don EP’ dropping November 26th.
