@NickiMinaj, @6ix9ine Receive Number 1 with ‘#Trollz’

Nicki Minaj and 6ix9ine received a #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with their new single “#Trollz.” The single just released over a week ago, with lots of excitement from fans of both artists.

The number 1 song makes Nicki Minaj’s 2nd song to hit #1 on the chart, with the first being the remix to Doja Cat’s “Say So.” With this placement, Nicki Minaj is also the first female rapper to debut a single at #1.

For 6ix9ine, this has been an incredible feat since this is also his first single to be released post prison release. 6ix9ine was imprisoned for racketeering and firearms offenses, but was released early for cooperating with authorities and snitching on other offenders and gang members. In 2015, he pled guilty to a felony count of child molestation after having sex with a 13 year old, filmed it and used the video to promote a music video. He was 19 at the time.
