Contract Negotiations Hold Up Cardi B Album Release

Cardi B for 2019 hit “Press” music video

It’s officially been 2 years since Cardi B rocked the music world with her multi-platinum debut album, Invasion of Privacy. And while the new girls have clearly been taking the hip-hop community by storm, there’s also an obvious voice missing from the airwaves.

It’s no secret that fans are eagerly anticipating the Grammy award winning rapper’s long-awaited return. Unfortunately for them, the wait for new music may be a bit longer than initially presumed.

According to Hits Daily Double, an inside source close to Cardi B’s camp claims that, “protracted renegotiation of her record deal has held up the release of her next full-length [project].” There’s also speculation that money may not be the sole reason for the albums delay, but no other information has been officially confirmed.

In the meantime, Cardi B has continued to maintain relevancy despite not releasing a single since the 2019 hit, “Press.” Over the past few months, she’s given fans a few sneak peaks into her new project, even hinting out a possible album title. And in typical Cardi fashion, her larger-than-life personality sparked a viral Coronavirus video that eventually became an internet anthem.

We’re hoping that Cardi and her label, Atlantic Records, can come to an understanding soon; just in time for a new summer anthem or two.
