Straight off of his Letter of Intent mixtape, E. Dott has released his latest masterpiece – the visual to the love-inspired “New New.”
“The record depicts the infant stages of love in a relationship,” says E. Dott. “It visualizes the curious feeling when you connect with someone and the idea of what it could become.”
Beginning with a regular guy approaching a beautiful woman in an attempt to get her number, she hesitates, but his charm wins her affection and their mutual attraction turns into something very special.

John Legend can do ABSOLUTELY NO WRONG in my book. That voice, so full of exquisite soul and intimate wonder, it doesn’t matter what words are coming from his mouth…I’m drowning immediately. I personally feel that the G.O.O.D. Music crooner is undervalued in today’s industry, and releases like this prove my point with ease. “Who Do We Think We Are” falls in line with Legend‘s familiar theme of deeply rooted lyrical content and subtle melodic bravado laced so effortlessly throughout his impressive repertoire. The video goes the extra mile in showcasing a life filled with glitz on the surface level, and Legend covering territory not dared chartered by most in his shoes, “The drinks, the minks, the jewels, the house, the cars/why’d we ball so hard?/Who do we think we are?/Baby, tell me, who do we think we are?” Rozay slides in with a smoothed-out verse that takes keen advantage of the lavish reconstruction behind the sampled “Mr. Big Stuff” track. Kanye West rounds out the tally of producers with Legend and Dave Tozer.
Legends‘ fourth studio album, Love in the Future, is slated for a June 25th release…and guess who’ll be one of the first to cop…

With a reminiscent groove right on time for summers emerging takeover, here is Tamar Braxton‘s follow-up single, “The One,” an uptempo, Biggie Smalls-sampled release that reigns successful in getting fans in the mood for top backs, short shorts and summer loves. Produced by LaShawn Daniels & Yung Berg, this track is sure to rock out in every car, club and radio station for months to come. If this track, along with the first drop “Love & War,” are any indication of her musical validity, and are accurate samplings of her upcoming Epic Records album release, then I’m ALL IN, and can’t wait to hear the full listing! Tamar seems to be bringing R&B back – in a BIG way!

This past weekend in NYC, R&B Spotlight was jam packed from wall to wall as 90s female trio SWV took the stage to perform some of their classic hits (“Weak,” “Anything,” “I’m So Into You.”) The show, which was co-hosted by R&B soul star Shaliek (alongside Cory Taylor) and newly signed artist, also featured acts like Felicia Temple, Gaetano, Bradd Marquis, and Suzy Q. We can’t forget an incredible performance of “The Past” by Shaliek, his new single, which is heating up the airwaves across the country right now. The ladies of SWV (Coko, LeLee, & Taj) also were on board filming their brand new reality show for TvOne, which will air sometime later this year. We got a first glimpse backstage as the camera crew captured exclusive footage of each second. Overall, great show!
