Messiah Ramkissoon is unlike the average rapper of today’s generation. His signage of spoken word intertwined with Hip-Hop places him into his own lane.  Citing Reggae artists such as: Bob Marley, Gregory Issacs, Jimmy Cliff, and Peter Tosh as some of his musical influences – the Trinidadian native cultivated the sounds of Caribbean roots with the flavor of Hip-Hop. Messiah’s message on the other hand, speaks life, inspiration, and education of Black History. While instructing the youth through his music, he also mentors them in his everyday life.

After relocating from Trinidad to the US, Messiah’s passion for music and spoken word evolved – and it wasn’t until his first dose of performing where the adrenaline rush came to a head, and Messiah would most notably perform and win several times at the infamous Showtime at the Apollo. From then, Messiah would deliver his spoken word performances across country. He would share the stage(s) with legendary artists such as: Kelly Price, Patti Labelle, Janelle Monae, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Wale, Lupe Fiasco, and Antonique Smith.

The traction of Messiah’s fan base rose to prominence since the debut of his first project, “The Eye of Freedom” back in 2020. His artistry as a spoken word emcee creatively evolved tremendously, which prompted his return to the studio alongside producers, Khalid Singletary and Daren Joseph. “The Eye of Freedom Vol. 2,” is a 5-track compilation which features neo-soul singer/songwriter Funsho.
