Coming off a hiatus, Washington D.C. emcee and former Roc Nation artist Z-Wayne releases ‘Please Excuse My Absence’ which showcases a polished version of himself, not only sonically but mentally. From new found fatherhood to living through a global health pandemic, Wayne has been hardened into a fully mature adult and it shows with his latest musical offering.

Composed of ten tracks, ‘PEMA’ is Z’s most complete offering to date. Dabbling in smooth and emotional hitting music stylistically composed in tune with artists such as Roddy Ricch and NBA Youngboy. Beyond music, Wayne procured his latest work for a bigger purpose than just himself. Features include NCS Kai and Young Moe.

“It’s all for my son and to be a good role model for my community,” Wayne said. “During my break from music I thought about life and what I needed to do to better my mental health for my family and I. No longer will I be just to be ‘lit’ pursuing rap music but to be an icon that the kids can look up to.”

His breakout hit “Ibaka” served as purpose to get him seen, now Z-Wayne curates music to build a legacy in which he can give to his son later in life. He found more than just having a good time in being a rapper but something to build on.

With more music set to drop after this, ‘PEMA’ sets to start the culmination of dropping consistent music after a break from music to get his mental health right. ‘PEMA’ is available on all platforms and visuals for the project are set to release soon.
