Tory Lanez Is Going to Jail?

Published

Social media is currently in a frenzy right now, specifically Black Twitter as rapper Tory Lanez posted a cryptic message just last night hinting at possibly going to jail. The tweet read simply: “It’s been real.” He also removed his photo and deleted all images from his Instagram account thereafter.

After much speculation, fans have taken to social media to wonder what the 29-year old Canadian was referring to. Most have gathered the conclusion that he might be going to jail after violation restraining order in the Megan Thee Stallion case that was placed against him for allegedly shooting at her foot in July of 2020 by appearing this year’s Rolling Loud Miami as one of rapper DaBaby’s surprise guest on stage.

Last year, after leaving a Kylie Jenner pool party, Tory, Megan, Megan’s then-best friend Kelsey Nicole, and Tory’s bodyguard were all riding in the same vehicle before things allegedly took a turn after an argument erupted between Meg and Tory. Megan claims Lanez shot her on her foot as she tried to walk away from the car in a since deleted Instgram Live video recapping on what happened that night.

“Yes … Tory shot me. You shot me and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying. Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand.”

According to reports, Tory was initially arrested on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and released on a $35,000 bail. However, according to reports, he was ultimately charged with one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying an unregistered loaded firearm in a vehicle. He was also ordered not to contact Megan and to surrender any other firearms he may own. His bail, which was posted, was set at $190,000. If convicted, the ‘Broke In A Minute’ rapper faces a maximum state prison sentence of 22 years and eight months.

In addition to that, on Aug. 23 a judge ruled for Tory’s bail to be increased because he violated the restraining order Megan filed against him by appearing at the Rolling Loud festival she also performed at this past July. – The Jasmine Brand
