Earlier in the week, AFROPUNK announced they will be returning for its annual global festival, which, is now taking place in Atlanta, GA. The weekend long event will be taken place at the Atlantic Station Pinnacle on September 25th and 26th and will exude nothing short of black excellence.

AFROPUNK is in conjunction with Black liberation and everything that falls under the umbrella.  Since the beginning of the festival which begun in 2005 in New York – the festival grew tremendously as black and brown individuals embraced their roots and cultural background. It started off in Brooklyn in 2005 and has appeared in South Africa, London, Paris, and now Atlanta.

The lineup will bring a fusion of DC’s Go Go dance scene, R&B, Hip Hop, and Afrobeats — which will feature performances by: Wale (and the ppl), Tems, Rico Nasty, Simino, and many more. This all comes to a pleasant surprise, due to AfroPunk in New York was cancelled due to the global pandemic, Covid-19.
