On the eve of what may be the biggest week of the year when talking about music releases, one release that has flown under the radar is Lil Tecca’s We Love You Tecca 2. Announced on July 22nd over social media, the sequel to his debut project, We Love You Tecca is set for release on August 6th. This comes a year after the release of the Queens rapper’s debut album Virgo World in 2020.

As mentioned previously, We Love You Tecca 2 serves as Lil Tecca’s third project overall, following in the footsteps of his 2019 debut, We Love You Tecca. On We Love You Tecca, Lil Tecca made a name for himself producing tracks that complimented his smash hit ‘Ransom’ that peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, earning a Juice WRLD feature on the remix in addition to a legitimate case for song of the summer. However, like many artists whose first hit explodes to top 10 status, all eyes were on Tecca to repeat the massive success of his first hit, setting unrealistically high expectations for the young rapper.

With We Love You Tecca 2 scheduled for release on the same day as Kanye West’s Donda and Nas’ King’s Disease 2, perhaps this gives Lil Tecca a chance to develop at his own pace away from the pressures a Billboard chart-topper can bring. With no sign of a tracklist at this point, fans of Lil Tecca patiently wait to see how the young artist has developed since his last project.
