Drake Accepts 2021 BBMAs Artist of the Decade Award | PEOPLE.com

Looks like Drake continues to ‘see green’ as Billboard awarded the “Artist Of The Decade” Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. The Canadian-rapper and child star has proved during the 2010s why he was the artist to watch. Spawning classic mixtapes like So Far Gone to classic albums like Nothing Was the Same, Take Care, and Views, the 34-year-old father continues to dominates the charts with his witty lyricism to his memorable punchlines, and hard-hitting delivery.

Drake was joined by his parents, OVO family, and the real star of the show, his 3-year-old son Adonis. While he said he didn’t prepare a grandiose speech for the ceremony on what it took to get this position, his words resonated with the Microsoft Theatre audience and had them in cheers.

I rarely celebrate anything and for anyone who wonders how this happened, that’s the answer. It’s being so unsure on how you’re getting it done that you keep on going in hopes of figuring out the formula. Feeling so lucky and blessed that the fear of losing keeps you up at night. I didn’t write a grandiose speech about how to make it work or what it took, because i don’t understand it myself. I just know that I spent an incalculable amount of hours on what I did wrong, but tonight, I’m sure as hell we did something right.”
