This month Atlanta-based singer, rapper, and Certified-Gold songwriter, AdELA dropped her latest single “My Green” with the help off the all-female cast in Alonda Rich and producer, Ms Madli.

Created during a female-only songwriting camp at IMI Studios, “My Green” is a fun, trap-inspired female anthem with fierce energy and women-centric message that every woman’s first responsinbilty is to herself… and to her green.

The accompanying visual for “My Green” was shot and directed entirely by AdELA herself during quarantine, and features the singer/songwriter in a variety of scenes and self styled outfits against a shifting greenscreen backdrop.

When asked about the inspiration behind the track, AdELA had this to say:

“In the music industry, women are often overlooked when it comes to the business side of things,” says the rapper “In addition, despite a highly competitive environment we are always expected to remain co-operative and pleasant. This track serves as a reminder that we mean business, our time is money, and we are coming for the bag.”

AdELA is no novice to the rap scene, not only is she a Certified-Gold songwriter for her work on Meek Mill’s 2017 album, Wins and Losses – she has put out three projects of her own stretching back to 2015 that are full of impressive features from heavy hitters like Fat Joe, Royce Da 5’9, Kool G Rap, Jon Connor, Skyzoo, and more. Her 2017 project, Dreamers and Thinkers peaked at #21 on iTunes and even cracked the Top 100 in the UK and France.

As shown by her performance on “My Green” and its accompanying, self-directed music video, AdELA is a multitalented artist with plenty to offer. Check out the visual for “My Green” below, and be on the lookout for new music and announcements from AdELA in 2021.
