Growing up in Youngstown with his mother, Cudi P witnessed and experienced plenty of hardship. In an effort to escape, he discovered Def Poetry Jams at a young age and began to try his hand at poetry at just 7 years old. Encouraged by his mother, by age 12 he had begun to write raps. By the time he got to highschool, he and a few friends collaborated on “Freshman Frenzy” – which developed a buzz around the city and cemented Cudi’s desire to pursue a career in music. After attending Moorepark University for football in 2015, he made the tough decision to put down the cleats and pick up the mic full time, getting connected with a small independent label.
After feeling held back at the label, he made the decision to venture out on his own. Now, creatively liberated, Cudi P is excited for the opportunity to properly showcase his bars and lyrical ability on his flagship project, Since ‘96 – which is out now and streaming everywhere as of today.
In Cudi’s words, Since ‘96 “is for the people who just wanna win and see their people win. My project will put you in motion and get your mental right. This is for everybody out there getting money, getting healthy, and having fun.”
Be sure to check out Cudi P’s Since ‘96 – streaming now on Spotify, Apple Music, and all streaming platforms. And be on the lookout for more from Cudi P in 2021, with follow up singles and visuals on the way after the release of his official debut today.
