We caught up to Border Buck in Harlem for the release of his EP, “What Ya Life Like,” which released on January 24th on all streaming platforms.

“What Ya Life Like” is filled with stories of pain, struggle, and determination to take over the music industry. Growing up between New York City and North Philly Badlands, Buck is no stranger to tough environments- a tough reality he reflects in his music. Working with artists like Dave East, Neek Bucks, Fred Da Godson and Smoke DZA, the up-and comer is in great company.

The importance of entrepreneurship and business in the music industry is something Border Buck knows very well, even interning under local NY artists like Yung Savv and Stevo. The project is a reminder that having an entrepreneurial mentality and skill will allow people in his community to go far.

“I’m just motivating my surroundings. Taking care of my son, doing what I do, branding myself with this music. I’m trying to turn 2020 into something epic” he says.

“What Ya Life Like” is his debut EP and includes tracks like “Hustler’s Dream” and “Stay in Life” featuring another one of Harlem’s own, Bodega Bamz.

Over heavy boom bap beats and eerie melodies created by producers like Triple A, J Demers and TriForce, Border Buck uses his deep voice to weave harrowing tales of heavy losses, near misses, and ultimately the story of persevering through it all.

Border Buck’s listening party for “What Ya Life Like” took place on January 27th, following the release of the EP which was released on all streaming platforms.
