Being less than 5 decades old, hip hop is the adolescent of the many genres gracing your DSPs, and topping charts around the globe . In true rebel fashion, hip hop is loud, in your face, and boy does it have something to say.
The latest battalion of artists to emerge within the genre have adopted the fashions and flagrance of your favorite masters of heavy metal. In short, they’re rockstars! Florida in particular seems to mass produce these sultans of spitting bars. Within the last decade the state has produced talents such as Ski Mask the Slump God, Kodak Black, Lil Pump, XXXtentacion, and Denzel Curry to name a few. One would think there’s a factory manufacturing rappers down in the sunshine state. Behind The Scene Kings and Juice Entertainment blessed the Wynwood streets with a concert showcasing just how hot the Florida market is for rap. The line up boasted upcoming but reputable talent such as Cash Money’s GlokkNine, Raw Youngin, Lil Meech, T9ine, and Breadwinna G Dawg. Southside, leader of 808 Mafia, and beau of the City Girls own Yung Miami made an appearance to support his newest recruit Raw Youngin.
Hip Hop lovers of all ages, could be seen lining the sides of the stage as they moshed to the DJ’s mixes of everything from Bobby Shmurda to Meek Mill. Clad in true back packing, rap star fashions. They jumped up and down in their Off the Wall Vans, Jordans, Yeezys, and Chuck Taylor tennis shoes. As the art form of Rap continues to evolve, so does the tastes, fashions, and inclinations of it patrons. We love to see it!
Maybe there’s something in the water, but you haven’t seen a rap show until you’ve seen a Florida rap show. This is the Florida Freshman Tour!
