Demitrius Grosse Talks Mary J. Blige in New Film ‘Body Cam,’ New Reggae Music & Coming from DC

We caught up with Washington DC native Demetrius Grosse down in New Orleans for this year’s 25th anniversary of Essence Festival backstage. We spoke about his role in the Black Lives Matter-themed film, ‘Body Cam,’ where he plays R&B superstar Mary J. Blige’s husband. The horror-thriller was also directed by Malik Vitthal and began filming in New Orleans last summer and finds the narrative on the subject of police brutality in the black community. Blige will play a detective by the name of Renee, while Grosse plays Gary in the Paramount distributed film. No word yet on if Mary will appear on the soundtrack. Grosse is also working on new music, and plans on releasing a reggae-influenced tune soon.
