More bad news for August Alsina.
After canceling a performance at an Essence Festival event in New Orleans over the weekend, the R&B crooner took to Instagram to update fans on his condition, which led to his hospitalization. While sitting in his hospital bed, he recalled the scary moment when he was temporarily paralyzed.
“I woke up one day and wasn’t able to walk, couldn’t feel my legs, and my doctor ended up admitting me into the hospital.”
August suffered nerve damage as a result of the disease, which occurs when your immune system attacks healthy cells in your body by mistake. “It’s like my immune system just went on vacation, so I’m just waiting on it to come on back,” he said.
Overall, August continues to put up a fight and promised his fans that he will be back with new music soon. “My auto immune disease is raging, but I’m fighting this thing & on my mission to shake back & beable to make it up to you!” he said. “I got so much 🎶NEW NEW🎶 to share w/ you!!!”
In February, he released his Forever and a Day EP and has been dropping remixes to songs from Kehlani and Khalid.
