Post-era of “Queen” that released in the summer of 2018, the Queen of Rap is solidifying her mark as one of the hardest working artists in the industry with a new, Caribbean-based record called “Megatron.” Earlier this week, the Trinidadian native was in various headlines and trending topics all over social media for her collaborations with Chris Brown (“Wobble Up”), Avril Lavigne (“Dumb Blonde”), and Trina (“BAPS”). The hype over her stellar collaborations with fellow colleagues did not hinder her spotlight as she released the audio to “Megatron,” and prepared to unveil the visuals as well.
The cinematographic view directed by Mike Ho is an infused version of Minaj’s “Superbass” and “Anaconda,” yet more sultry that includes a Dancehall vibe to accommodate the rambunctious and quirky lyrics.
It seemed as if the video was captured on an island or synonymous to one. Illuminating rays of cyan and green flourished throughout the visuals, which complimented each scene, especially during Minaj’s solo captures.
You can also get a subliminal glimpse of Nicki’s beau, Kenneth Petty as the leading man in the video as well. The duo’s chemistry resonates throughout, showcasing a few sensual glimpses of the two.
“Megatron” is the first single to be released from Nicki since her last album dropped; yet, there is no word if this is a radio single or part of an upcoming project.
