Louis Atlas is a New York native, who over years discovered an affinity for reggae and roots music after listening to Bob Marley one day. After finding this new love and passion for the genre, he started to visit Jamaica often in order to find inspiration through the people and culture, as well as the island. To date, he’s released four studio albums, 2001’s ‘Beat of the Heart,’ 2005’s ‘Citizen of NYC,’ 2017’s ‘Arms of Heaven’ and this year’s latest release, ‘Coconut Dream.’ We caught up with the seasoned musician to talk about his upcoming show on June 19 at The Father’s Place (Roslyn Hotel) in Long Island, NY, his love for reggae artist Gregory Isaacs’ music, Jamaican food, his songwriting process, and so much more.
