The 2013 SESAC Pop Music Awards were held Monday evening at The New York Public Library, honoring the best songwriters and publishers in the industry.

“The invitation-only, red carpet gala event has established itself as one of the most popular music gatherings in the business. Each year, the star studded evening features special performances from some of entertainment’s top hit-makers with attendees including some of the biggest names in music.” (from official SESAC website).

This year’s show included honoring music executive Daniel Glass of Glassnote Entertainment with the prestigious Visionary Award, along with songwriter Rico Love earning the “Songwriter of the Year” award for the third time in a row, and the “Song of the Year” award for “Heart Attack,” performed by Trey Songz, and Michelle Williams stealing the red carpet spotlight in an all-fuchsia pant suit, revealing a leather bra beneath a lace top under the jacket. Williams made the appearance to present Love with his awards. Celeb attendees also included Swizz Beatz, Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett, Melanie Fiona, Angela Hunte, and more.

This Saturday, May 18th, Sterling Sounds Studios in Chelsea Market, (NYC) will be live with The Kickback:

A host of celebrity guests came out to Amnesia Wednesday evening to celebrate the born day of Meek Mill. The Maybach Music Group rapper was flanked by the likes of Juelz Santana, Cashout, The Consortium & international performer MikeLyrik, along with his label mate, Wale, and a slew of anxious party-goers eager to be in the mix. Mill recently finished the 11-city Dreams Come True tour in promotion of his current project, Dreams and Nightmares, which was slotted at #15 on Spin Magazine‘s list of “Best Hip Hop Albums of 2012.”

MMG/Bad Boy recording artist and Bronx native French Montana took over New York City last night. He started off the evening by celebrating at HILO for the official album listening party of his debut, Excuse My French. The jam packed room brought in celebrities like rapper Eve (pictured above; and whose album, Lip Lock hits stores next week), label-mates Wale and Stalley, Fred the Godson, Chinx Drugs, President of Bad Boy Records Harve Pierre, Hen Roc, MMG’s Young Sav, Ms Drama and Steph Lova of VH1′s The Gossip Game, Renee Graziano of VH1′s Mob Wives and of course DJ SNS on the 1s and 2s playing selected cuts from the album.

If that wasn’t enough, French later crashed at NYC’s hottest celebrity hotspot, Greenhouse to continue partying. There, we were surprised with a very special appearance by Ms Diamonds herself, Rihanna (who stopped by after her performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center). Other artists like Busta Rhymes, Trina, Steve Stoute, Tyson Beckford, Elle Varner, Talib Kweli, NY Knicks player J.R. Smith, and more. Although it was raining outside and club-goers anxious waiting in line, that didn’t stop the stars from having an splendid time.

This past weekend in NYC, R&B Spotlight was jam packed from wall to wall as 90s female trio SWV took the stage to perform some of their classic hits (“Weak,” “Anything,” “I’m So Into You.”) The show, which was co-hosted by R&B soul star Shaliek (alongside Cory Taylor) and newly signed artist, also featured acts like Felicia Temple, Gaetano, Bradd Marquis, and Suzy Q. We can’t forget an incredible performance of “The Past” by Shaliek, his new single, which is heating up the airwaves across the country right now. The ladies of SWV (Coko, LeLee, & Taj) also were on board filming their brand new reality show for TvOne, which will air sometime later this year. We got a first glimpse backstage as the camera crew captured exclusive footage of each second. Overall, great show!
