1. You have such a unique style to you. Do you think that style encapsulates through your music?
I like to try out different things when dealing with my appearance, and I’ll have to say that’s how I like to reflect my music. I don’t wanna limit myself to one sound, so yeah I’ll try out reggae, yeah I’ll do jazz, and of course, I’ll tell a story through country music. I make R&B music but my style is so versatile that I’m liable to do anything my heart desires
2. Your ep releases in the spring. What can your fans expect?
I want them to get to know who Reese is, because she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Every detail I put into my project and through my lyrics I want my supporters to connect with me on another level. Yeah, we’re gonna dance and yeah we’re gonna reflect back on life too. This is me 100% raw and I can’t wait for my supporters to not only hear what I have in store but grow with me through the process.
3. What sets you apart from other artists?
When I graduated college I had a picture go viral with me holding a money stack. I got a lot of love from that picture and I was also judged in a negative matter. My point is I don’t give a fuck lol I go against traditions and trends, I’m not one dimensional. I always go the other direction because I take risks. As an artist that’s what it’s all about for me, setting trends and taking risks
4. What motivates you?
My grandmother, my sister, my friends hell my family lol well my immediate family. Also, the ones that I’ve lost over time who wanted this for me more than I wanted it for myself at one point. I grind hard and go after my dreams because I wanna make them proud and not only that but I wanna put them in a position that they can win as well. I never had a huge family so growing up my friends were all I had sometimes. I got them through whatever!
5. Were there any challenges you faced during your career in the early stages and how did you move past that?
Oh my god man there were so many challenges! From looking for dope producers and engineers to work with, to spending tons of money on a sound that I didn’t like for myself. I can’t lie I took a lot of losses but I know in due time it’ll pay off. I still struggle sometimes with working with certain people but I got passed it by getting a set team for myself. Now, I’m still recruiting, but so far I think I’m off to a great start.
6. What’s one quote you live by?
God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers – fabolous (the rapper) lol I live by that quote because I’ve been through a lot and I didn’t fold. In life we’re gonna get tested, life is going to try you, and if you’re not mentally strong then you won’t make it. That’s what it’s all about, living your best life and overcoming those battles.
