In 1995, the group Total (Pamela Long, JaKima Raynor-Dyson, and Keisha Spivey-Epps) debuted their single “Can’t You See” featuring the Notorious B.I.G. “Can’t You See” made it to the top 20 on the Billboard chart and was # 2 on the R&B charts. The group went on to provide the world with more singles, which seem timeless to this day. Hits like “No One Else” ft. Da Brat, “Kissin You,” “Trippin,” and “Sitting Home” to name a few. Not including their many features on songs such as “Loungin” by LL Cool J, and “What You Want” by Mase to name a few. However, after two studio albums the group disbanded, and were last seen together in the early 2000s.
Pam and Kima reunited on stage as the group Total in 2014, taking tour dates across the country. In 2016, the Bad Boy Family Reunion tour brought together all (3) of the group members on one stage. Together, they performed all of their hits, leaving fans on their feet screaming for more! This reunion also sparked hope in the hearts of fans that the three members would continue to tour together. But, sadly, that wasn’t the case.
In Newark, NJ MusicXclusives caught up with Kima and Pam after their last performance together as the group, Total. Rumors circulated in the air of a divide amongst group members due to drama. However, in a 2:1 interview, the group members confessed that their breakup was not due to “love lost.” Rather, the reason for their split was a mutual decision to explore their gifts individually. Pam discussed her desire to pursue solo projects such as an album and writing a book. Kima will be exploring her options as an entrepreneur with her own clothing line, as well as a recording artist. As for Keisha, the present members insist that there is no bad blood.
Although Pam and Kima declare that their performance at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center was their last. Fans remain hopeful, that the group will give the idea, “One More Chance.”
