On Friday, Oct. 27th, Platinum selling rap group Migos released their first single, “Motorsport” off their forthcoming album Cultured II. Quavo, Offset and Takeoff premiered a snippet of the now-released Hit during Power 105’s annual Powerhouse concert in New York City on Oct. 26th.
The single features Trap Selena Aka Cardi B. and The Queen of Hip-Hop herself, Nicki Minaj. The track is an uptempo banger that is fast-paced, full of bars, and produced by MurdaBeatz and CuBeatz. Migos takes the lead on the track, while the NYC ladies follow thereafter.
Cardi B takes the wheel and raps, “why would I hop in some beef/ When I could just hop in a Porsche?/ You heard she gon’ do what from who?/ That’s not a reliable source.” She makes it clear that her paper and joining forces with the queen of rap is more important than a rap feud or beef. Later, she raps: “I’m the trap Selena / Dame más gasolina (skrrt).” Her last bars is an homage to Daddy Yankee’s 2014 Latin hit, “Gasolina.”
Nicki Minaj joins the track and declares she is still the champ and that she is rap’s “Jackie Chan” with an impressive 28-Bars. Nicki spits: “Attention, I’ma need you to face front/ You don’t want smoke with me, this is a laced blunt/ Rap’s Jackie Chan, we ain’t pullin’ them fake stunts/My crown won’t fit on your bum ass lace fronts (uh).” The Queen is back and Motorsport is Migos bringing two Queens together. Nicki-Minaj appearing on the track ends the rumors of a feud between the two ladies and this is the queen of hip-hop co-signing and proclaiming Cardi as the princess of hip-hop.
