While currently on tour with The Weeknd, Gwop took to twitter to reveal to fans that he plans to split with long-time recording home Atlantic Records at the top of the year.
Since being released last year for a three-year prison stint. Gucci Mane has had the best year yet of his career. Working with everyone from E-40 to Selena Gomez. Gucci is ready to be “100% Independent” as he labels it. In promotion of his upcoming October album, ‘Mr. Davis’, Gucci also mentioned in his tweet that he has plans to release new music every other day next year apart of his new identity.
In the tweet, he states:
“2018 I’m going 100 percent independent and dropping a mixtape ever other day.”
Many are citing the decision is based on his displeasure with the new direction Atlantic Records is taking with signing popular social media acts. The label recently released long-time acts like Gucci’s cousin, Waka Flocka Flame and announced newly signed acts like Danielle Bregoli, now better known as, Bhad Bhabie.
Gucci Mane’s new album, ‘Mr. Davis’ drops on his signature October 17th. Gucci Mane recently hit the studio with popular social media talent-turned-recording artist Jake Paul.
