All hail Queen Remy!
Last night Remy Ma won the Best Female Hip-Hop Award for the 2017 BET Awards. It has been along time coming for the Bronx rapper. This award has been won by her hip-hop rival Nicki Minaj for the last seven years. The rapper said,
“I want to thank God, first and foremost, I’ve been through a lot. To everybody who thinks there’s no such thing as second chances, I’m here to tell you, that’s a lie. You just gotta keep working hard. Shoutout to everybody in Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, Albion Correctional Facility, anybody on parole, it’s hard but you can do it. You can make mistakes and come back.”
She gave thanks to her husband, Papoose and her rap partner Fat Joe. While giving her speech Remy had some other things to get off her chest. She rapped,
“Y’all bitches got fat while we starved, Shots in your ass, pads in your bras. Y’all some liars, it ain’t no facts in your songs and yeah, that crown is coming back to the Bronx.”
Before leaving the stage, Remy made sure to shout out the legendary Queen Latifah, as well as her fellow Best Female Hip-Hop Artist nominees, Cardi B, and Young M.A.
