Rapper and founder of Maybach music label, Rick Ross geared up for last night’s release party of his ninth album Rather You Than Me at Compound Night Club in ATL, after having appeared in court Friday morning.
In 2015, Ross and his manager Nadrian James were arrested for aggravated assault and kidnapping against former employees who claim the duo beat them up while in Ross’ residence in Atlanta.
WSB-TV reports that friday’s court appearance was set with the intentions of receiving immunity against the active charges claiming self-defense. Allegedly, an altercation broke loose after Ross discovered his employees had uninvited guests in his guesthouse. The judge presiding wants to restart the trial while the defense aims to have all charges dismissed.
With all the drama surrounding, The Boss man still found time to release the title of his 10th album to come, Port of 2 Miami: Born to Kill -sequel of his first studio album released back in 2006.
How ironic is the title of his new album though? He’d rather it be anyone else dealing with these court proceedings besides himself.
