Rick Ross Fires Multiple Shots at Birdman on “Idols Become Rivals”
Rapper and entrepreneur Rick Ross, has no filter on his newest album “Rather You than Me.”
The ninth studio album features a diss track about producer and rapper Birdman, titled “Idols Become Rivals.” Ross has no mercy while rapping over the sample of Camilo Sesto’s “Agua De Dos Rios,” which was famously used on Jay Z’s Beanie Sigel-assisted “Where Have You Been,”
More importantly, Ross defends Lil Wayne & Dj Khaled on this track. Rozay blast Birdman for claiming to be so rich, but failing to pay his artist and producers. He also calls Birdman out for having fake jewelry and not owning all his cars.
Ross frustration for Birdman didn’t stop on this track, he also publicly defended Lil Wayne on social media. “The Level of respect and Love that I have for WAYNE makes it hard to sit back and not speak on the situation,” Rozay wrote on Instagram. “The streets need you. Being a Boss means having the courage to say the things everybody thinking but scared to say. I can’t wait for you to hear it.” According to The Shade Room, Lil Wayne responded to the post on twitter with much appreciation.
Rick Ross isn’t the only rapper to expose beef with another artist through music. Hip Hop legends Biggie and Tupac, Jay Z, Eminem, Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj, and Remy Ma have all made diss tracks. Therefore, since “The Boss” has publicly proclaimed his beef with Birdman, the question now is how will “the #1 stunna” respond?
Rick Ross ninth album cover, Rather You Then Me released March 17th.
