Today, Billboard charting DC lyricist Chaz French announces his exciting new major joint label deal with ThreeSixEight and Motown Records. “I’m happy for my label ThreeSixEight and I love my new Motown family,” expresses Chaz. “I’m super excited to represent the DMV. It’s not just about me, it’s about all of us!”
Along with the label announcement, Chaz French shares the first single, “Way Out”, from his highly anticipated debut project. The hard-hitting track showcases Chaz’s undeniable lyrical ability as he vigorously confronts his past transgressions, boasts his future successes and reflects on the loyalty of those closest to him. Chaz has also exclusively teamed up with world-renowned artist Naturel for the single’s cover art.
“Way Out” is now available for streaming on SoundCloud and will be available for purchase and streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal on March 17th. Chaz will release his highly anticipated debut album under the Capitol Records umbrella this spring!
Transparent and often unapologetic about his past, Chaz French’s lyrics to his vibey music are inspired by his own life experiences. He delivers his art in its purest form and people have gravitated to his honest lyrics throughout his career. Born in D.C. and raised in Maryland, French describes himself as a survivor having experienced an almost fatal car accident and homelessness. He credits those traumatic experiences to his tenaciousness. Fans can catch Chaz in Austin for SXSW performing at the Scope Showcase on March 16th and at the ICM showcase on March 18th. His summer festival run kicks off with Broccoli City Fest in D.C. on May 6th and the Smoking Loud Festival in Miami May 5-7. Stay tuned to Chaz’s socials for additional festival announcements.
