“If the love doesn’t feel like 90s R&B I don’t want it.”
Fanny finds love in her new visual for her latest single, “When I Met You” and we must say we’re extremely happy for her. The music video, which is ode to the 90’s, pays homage to artists like SWV, Whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin in a series of photos showcased throughout the beginning of the Derek Blanks-directed clip. Fantasia takes back in time while a young lady dressed in ol skool attire lip sync’s her lyrics in a high school classroom setting.
The American Idol alum then fast forwards to current time and here we see her newly married husband, Kendall Taylor, who she wed back in 2015 after three weeks of dating. The video depicts a beautiful love story of two people who found each other and care about one another so deeply that it appears to be a fairytale. Fanny was previously involved with Antwaun Cook, but the relationship didn’t last and ultimately, the two went their separate ways.
