In 2010 RichGirl, the R&B girl group creation of famed Grammy award winning music producer and songwriter Rich Harrison, released a very promising single entitled “Swagger Right” featuring rappers Fabolous and Rick Ross. Though not a major success, the song peaked at number 72 on the Billboard R&B Charts, after the groups previous debut single “He Ain’t With Me Now (Tho)” peaked at 96 on the same chart and 31 on the Hot Club chart.
The Dre & Vidal-produced song was intended for the quartet’s self-titled album. RichGirl became indefinitely shelved after the group failed to have a song chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Other songs intended for the album included “He Ain’t With Me Now (Tho),” “Pimp Cup” featuring Snoop Dogg, “24’s” featuring Bun B” and “Millionaire.” Though the album never materialized, the group released a mixtape for the fans on Valentine’s Day 2011 entitled Fall in Love with RichGirl.
RichGirl consisted of Audra Simmons, Christina “Brave” Williams, Kristal Lyndriette Smith and Amber “Se7en” Streeter. After the group’s disbandment, Se7en re-branded her moniker as Sevyn Streeter, signed to Chris Brown’s CBE imprint and has released her won solo material, including her hit single “It Won’t Stop”featuring Chris Brown. Brave re-entered the music business via reality television on TV One’s R&B Divas LA. Kristal is now apart of another promising girl group, June’s Diary, after placing in the group via Kelly Rowland’s docuseries entitled Chasing Destiny (BET, please bring it back. I know y’all canceled it, but c’mon, now!). June’s Diary has released two official singles since the show’s airing, “All of Us” & “L.A.N.C.E.” Audra was last heard of recording music in 2012 and 2013, but has yet to surface.
Hopefully, all the girls can resurface and truly get their “swagger right” back into the music game. Watch the video above to fall in love with RichGirl once more.
