It’s been a couple of years (a little over 2 to be exact) since we’ve heard anything from R&B singer/songwriter and Detroit native Brandon Hines. No new music, no updates, no show dates, and certainly no recent YouTube video uploads. The last time we’ve really heard from him was the release of his single, “Yes You Are,” which was lining up to be the first offering from his debut project. He had gotten signed to Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def imprint through L.A. Reid’s Epic Records and started work on his album, working with the likes of Bryan-Michael Cox as well as others. He later released his first music video, which barely sits at nearly a million views on YouTube to date (since it premiered in 2012) and started making his promo rounds, as well as performing around the country. The R&B crooner, who was once linked to Trey Songz and Troy Taylor’s Songbook Ent has disappeared from our sight without any prior warning. He had built a pretty large following and fan base, released two solid projects (Love Music…Falling In, Falling Out; In Search Of…). His social media sites haven’t been updated since last year, and there’s no sign on whether he’s still signed or even still recording music. It’s hard to believe an artist as talented as him would never reach the peak of success that he truly deserves. What happened? Of course he started writing for other artists, but it’s been some time now. Has he been shunned by the industry? I mean we’ve heard the rumors (I won’t even go there). So I ask, where is Brandon Hines?
