Introducing… Luke James + “I Want You” (Music Video) « MusicXclusives.com | "We Play It First"

I recently had the opportunity to meet a talented young man (which at the time the photo was taken I had no clue who he was) by the name of Luke James (Island Def Jam Music Group). It comes to my surprise that this same young man was 1/2 of the duo Luke & Q, whom were signed to J Records a few years back with the single, “My Turn” (2006). But like many new artists, things didn’t take off as expected and their album was shelved. The two eventually parted ways. Fast forward to 2011, Luke got a solo deal with Def Jam via N.A.R.S. (super producer Danja’s imprint; also home to Kevin Cossom) and is getting ready to release his debut album sometime this year featuring the first offering, “I Want You.”

The singer-songwriter is no stranger to the music industry, in fact, he’s already penned hits for Chris Brown (“Crawl”) and Britney Spears (“Kill the Lights”) just to name a few and he’s been featured as a dancer in Beyonce’s music video for “Run The World (Girls).” Already garnering the attention and buzz needed as an artist, only time will tell if Luke James has what it takes to compete the likes of Jason Derulo, Trey Songz, Chris Brown and Miguel. But judging based off his talent alone, I think he will be in a lane of his own!

He’s not cute. Nice false setto voice though. Next.
