Chris Brown may be known as an R&B/pop international superstar but he’s making it clear that he has what it takes to hang with some of Hip-Hop’s elite. He’s officially releasing his first rap mixtape, Boy In Detention this Fri, Aug 5 online.
“Yes I’m a singer so if this mixtape doesn’t reach your quota for hip hop! Simply don’t listen,” CB proclaims to the naysayers.

Check out the video premiere of Harrell/Atlantic Record’s own Hamilton Park for their second single, “Thing Called Us.” Their debut album is set for a release sometime this year. This reminds me of when R&B was raw and artists conveyed emotion through their music (i.e Jodeci, Boyz II Men, 112).
